Here’s a deadline you want to beat! Report for America offers early consideration for prospective corps members

Since becoming Report for America’s director of admissions, I’ve quickly learned that journalists are deadline driven. But if you’re thinking about answering the call to serve in our reporting and photography corps, you might want to get your application in today!

Yes, you have until Jan. 31, but for the first time we are offering early consideration to candidates who submit their applications by Dec. 31. This early application deadline will afford candidates the opportunity to receive early review for our exciting beat assignments here. And that means you could move to the head of the line for newsroom interviews, should we determine you’re the perfect match for one newsroom or another. 

Report for America provides a unique opportunity for journalists to pursue meaningful, local beat reporting that sadly is missing from many of today’s newsrooms. Beyond talented reporters and photojournalists, we are looking for a diversity of individuals who see journalism as a calling and who want to make a difference within their communities.
