New York, NY – Report for America (RFA), a national service program that places emerging journalists into local news organizations to report on under-covered issues, has partnered with nearly six dozen, award-winning journalists to launch RFA’s Mentorship Program.

The inaugural volunteer program pairs veteran journalists from print, digital, radio, television, academic and non-profit newsrooms with RFA’s reporters to provide guidance, advice, support and networking opportunities.

Among the mentors are several Pulitzer Prize winners and finalists, a James Beard Award winner, and winners of several other prestigious awards. To see a list of the RFA Mentors, click here.

An initiative of The GroundTruth Project, Report for America addresses an urgent need in journalism at a time when news deserts are widening across the country, leaving communities uninformed on local issues and threatening our democracy like never before.

This year, RFA will grow to 250 reporters, placed in nearly every U.S. state, including Hawaii and Alaska, as well as in Puerto Rico.
