This reporter is assigned specifically to cover inequality and income disparity. The Mission District, with its stark income differences, is an ideal place to take on this beat—one that will have a citywide impact. We touch on inequality in other stories, as do others, but it is a beat that merits its own reporter who can spend the time to think creatively on story angles, framing and reporting.
