Beat: Effects of climate change in southwest Pennsylvania

Climate change is disrupting southwestern Pennsylvania. Record rainfall two years in a row led to historic floods that took lives, caused tens of millions of dollars in damage and exacerbated the inequality of neighborhood divisions. The disadvantaged suffer some of the worst air quality and highest asthma rates. The loss of jobs and people from the region has decimated both small towns and urban centers. This struggle has pitted the competing Democratic interests of environmental progress and good union jobs.
