Beat: Latino affairs in Jerome County

Jerome County is one of the faster-growing counties in Idaho thanks to burgeoning Hispanic communities. The county’s Hispanic population grew nearly 35 percent between 2016 and 2017. In fact, non-Hispanic white students are no longer the majority in the school district there. Megan reports on the community and brings its stories to the forefront. She specifically covers Jerome County and other smaller northern counties, with a special focus on Latino affairs and business, while also keeping an eye on court hearings and city hall. She also covers breaking news stories within this coverage gap, and contributes one or two weekly centerpieces and enterprise stories.
